LOOK! Makabayan Bloc, Naghain ng Resolusyon upang kilalanin ang 1989 UP-DND Accord!

Inihain ng Makabayan Bloc sa Kamara ang House Resolution 1491 na layong pagtibayin at kilalanin ang University of the Philippines (UP) – Department of National Defense (DND) Accord at ang academic freedom ng lahat ng academic institutions.

Mariing kinondena ng mga kongresista mula Makabayan ang pagkansela ng DND sa 1989 UP-DND Accord.

Diin nila, ang kasunduan ay isang mutually binding agreement na hindi maaaring ibasura o buwagin ng iisang partido lamang.

Bunsod ng pagpapawalang bisa sa kasunduan ay minamaliit din anila ang academic freedom at tila banta sa kalayaan at seguridad sa malayang pagpapahayag ng saloobin at mapayapang pagtitipon.

Dagdag pa ng mga kinatawan, ang mga paaralan ay dapat na magsilbing safe zone na malaya mula sa ano mang police at military presence, intervention, harassment, at intimidation.
