Hinamon ni National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao ang mga politikong sumusuporta sa New People’s Army (NPA) na paakyatin sa bundok ang kanilang mga anak at ilaban sa pwersa ng gobyerno.

Ayon kay Danao, dapat daw malaman ng mga kongresista tulad ng mga miyembro ng Makabayan Bloc ang pakiramdam ng mawalan ng anak tulad ng ilang magulang.

“To the congressmen who are the protectors of the leftist groups, if you indeed believe that this ideology is good, I challenge you to let your children go uphill and teach them… This is what you want? Imagine even your own children you want them dead to offer them as sacrifice for this senseless organization… Are we going to wait for them to kill more before we will? It’s high time for us to be awaken so that you would know what kind of group this is,” banat ni Danao.

Ang pahayag naito ay pinakawalan ng PNP Official habang mainit ang usapin ukol sa pagbasura ni Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana sa UP-DND Accord. Sa nasabing kasunduan, hindi pinapayagan ang mga pulis at militar na basta-basta pumasok sa mga campus ng unibersidad ng walang abiso sa pamunuan ng eskwelahan. Paliwanag ni Sec. Lorenzana, pinawalang-bisa nila ang kasunduan upang maprotektahan ang mga kabataan sa ginagawang panghihikayat ng Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP).

Magugunita na sinabi noon ni Bayan Muna Congressman Carlos Zarate sa isang senate hearing na hindi nila kinukundina ang paghahasik ng lagim ng mga NPA.

“Yung mga taong (NPA), ang option nila ay mag-armas, mahirap po i-konena sila outright,” sabi ni Congressman Zarate.

Base sa impormasyon na nakalap ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, ang anak ni Zarate ay nag-aaral sa ibayong dagat.
