LOOK!Pangulong Duterte may pinatamaan sa kanyang Speech "No franchise will ever be implemented, Bayaran muna nila ang Utang sa Gobyerno!"

Sa kaniyang pinakahuling public address, iginiit ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte na dapat ayusin muna ng mga negosyante ang mga obligasyon ng mga ito sa gobyerno bago sila mabigyan ng prangkisa.

"No franchise will ever be implemented. Maski bigyan mo ng ilang libong franchise. Settle your accounts with the government.

Wala akong galit. Bayaran mo lang ang gobyerno, sasaludo ako sa inyo ng limang beses." banat ni Pangulong Duterte.

Walang binanggit na negosyo si Pangulong Duterte pero magugunita na ibinnasura ng kongreso ang franchise application ng ABS-CBN noong nakaraang taon. Ilan sa mga naging isyu ng mga mambabatas sa Kapamilya network ay ang diumano'y tax avoidance scheme nito.

Sa pagsisimula ng taon ay kaniya-kaniyang hain ng panuakalang batas sina Senate President Tito Sotto at Congresswoman Vilma Santos para sa renewal ng prangkisa ng ABS-CBN. Paliwanag ni Sotto, tila bumaba raw ang kalidad ng mga programa sa telebisyon sa pagkawala ng ABS-CBN sa ere.

"I noticed TV stations have been replacing their news programs with Animes. It means competition is absent and mediocrity is creeping in because of the absence of a strong competitor like ABS-CBN," boladas ni Sotto.

Isinusulong din ng mga kaalyado ni House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco ang renewal ng ABS-CBN Franchise. Isa sa mga masugid na taga-suporta ng ABS-CBN ay si Congressman Lito Atienza.
